Andrew is working under SEND International, a missionary organization out of the Metro Detroit area. Andrew skillfully answers easy and several tough questions about his calling as a missionary.
Ever since he can remember, Andrew Phillips, has been fascinated with Japan. On March 2, 2014, God transformed his fascination into a love for the people of Japan and a longing for them to know Jesus. His eyes filled with tears as he heard long time missionaries share about the need in Japan and the many ways God was working to bring hope and healing through Christian missionaries.
The very next month he was serving the Japanese as a conversation partner at a Conversational English Class through his home church Faith Covenant Church. in Farmington Hills. Michigan. That summer he was contacted by SEND International and in January 2015 his feet were on Japanese soil for the first time!
After 3 months of children's ministry (English classes, Bible Club, Sports camp) and building relationships in the neighborhood, he knew God was calling him back to Japan full time!
In 2017 Andrew was able to return to Japan and work with Japanese leaders through Christian camps and clubs for High School students for 2 months. In 2018 he received his Bachelor's Degree in Christian Ministry/International Studies from Rochester College (Rochester Hills, Michigan).
